A Georgia court has awarded $56.5 million in damages to the family of University of Georgia PhD student Beth Buchanan, whose life was tragically cut short in a 2023 high-speed drunk-driving crash.

While no judgment can replace what was lost, this decision represents a formal acknowledgment of Beth’s life and the profound impact she had on those around her.

The defendant remains a fugitive, and authorities continue their search. A reward of up to $15,000 is still available for information leading to an arrest.

Beth’s family continues to seek accountability and urges anyone with information—no matter how small—to come forward.
